What is Claude Duet?

Claude Duet is a helpful, proactive agent you hand off work to through messages. Tell it what you need and it works on its own computer in the cloud, using apps you connect. It messages you when it is done or needs a decision from you. While it’s always on, it uses good judgment when it reaches out and knows what can wait.

How does Claude Duet work?

Message Claude Duet in the app like a teammate you trust, through text or voice with no prompts or setup. Your history is in one thread. It remembers what you said before, and returns finished work like a doc, sheet, or deck for your review.

How is Claude Duet different from Claude?

Claude Duet uses your Claude account, including memory, skills, and connectors. The Claude app waits for you to open a chat, and you work on something alongside Claude. Claude Duet comes to you. It tells you what needs your attention each morning, takes tasks you hand it by message, and reaches out when one is done or needs your approval.

What can Claude Duet do?

Claude Duet can send a morning brief, flag what needs you in your inbox and calendar, and draft replies for you to approve. It also takes on some of the work of running a business, like finding unpaid invoices and drafting the reminders, preparing payroll for you to review, and getting contracts ready to send. It can put together a brief, deck, or dashboard too.

Who can use Claude Duet and what does it cost?

Claude Duet is a research preview on a waitlist for Claude Pro and Max subscribers in the US. Team and Enterprise plans are not included yet.

How does usage work for Claude Duet?

During the research preview, Claude Duet shares your plan’s usage limits with the rest of Claude, and uses them differently than a typical conversation. Its background checks count toward those limits. Larger tasks, like building a financial model or a deck, require more model turns and background work.

Where can I use Claude Duet?

Claude Duet is a standalone app for iOS and Android. On a computer, you can open it on the web at claude.ai.

What isn’t ready yet?

Claude Duet is a research preview. It may misread a thread or miscalibrate what’s urgent, and it can miss something that arrives between checking in with you.
